08/13/2023 Well its been a few years with this Rad City and I now have over 5,000 miles on the bike. It's been great! Battery life hasn't significantly dropped for range that i can tell.
I recently purchased this E-bike from Radpowerbikes.com and it has been a really good E-bike to ride. What makes it better for 2018 is the 750watt rear hub brushless motor and increased capacity 14 ah battery. The expected range is between 30-40 miles on a charge. The expected battery life is approx. 800 cycles. That's roughly 28,000 miles on the battery! The bike features regenerative braking to charge the battery and front and rear disc brakes. The front shock is adjustable for spring rate and a lockout function. Super bright LED for lighting at night with lighted LCD screen. The bike has five levels of power assist along with throttle control to add power at any power setting. Max speed is set to 20mph. But, can be changed. See the manual for instructions. The 2019 Rad City now has improved thornproof tires with reflective sidewalls and brake light indicator when applying the brakes. Also, the freewheel was changed to the 11-34 for more pedal authority while in 7th gear. Click the link to order and visit the other E-bikes Radpowerbikes has to offer! radpowerbikes.com |

Took the RadCity out for a cycle and rode past the Texas Rangers spring training camp and then over to the park to check out the fishing action. They stock the lake with trout during the winter months.

At 18 miles and most of the riding is at level 3 riding assist. The battery is still 75% full! At level 3 riding, the bike is pretty much effortless for me and pretty quick up to 20mph. When turning on the headlamp, the backlit display is nicely lit and easy to read while riding. Front headlamp is LED with daytime driving option. Headlamp is powered by the main battery. When you first power on the bike, it starts at level 1 assist. The bike battery has a key lock to lock out the screen and to lock the battery to the bike. Battery is removed by pushing and turning the key counter clockwise.
At 29 miles and still on the first initial charge on the new bike! Mostly using power assist level 3. I estimate to hit 35 miles before empty. The two bar battery indicator was solid at this mileage.
At 32 miles and mostly on power level 3 the battery meter was momentarily dropping down to one bar and back to two bars. I was also running the LED headlamp which doesn't use that much power. When the battery gets to one bar and would flash, the manual says to cease power driven to the rear wheel. I am impressed with a 32 mile range and such easy riding on power level 3. Reading up on the manual I favored better than expected for 32miles and power level 3. My rides were mostly flat with very gradual inclines over a few miles. The manual suggest 64km range (39miles) with flat terrain, normal payload, not windy, low pedal assist level with moderate to heavy pedaling. I'm at 200lbs and maybe an extra 5 lbs. with panniers, extra tube, tool kit, tire pump and cable lock.
Went on a full out ride of 34 miles on a fully charged battery. Power level 3 and had to deal with a windy day. Halfway through I had a flat rear tire. The included tool kit with the bike was everything I needed to remove the rear tire. Expecting this to happen I had with me a new tube, small air pump and tire tools.
Rad Small Front Rack
The small front rack! I recently added this small rack to the front which is straight forward and not much effort to install. Rad supplied the extra long wire extension for the front headlamp! These wire connections are really nice quality as they have a positive locking action when connected together. Seem to be very water tight and moisture resistant. This small rack is rated at 10kg which is about 20lbs max.
