Rad Rover Street Tires
If you want to change over to more of a street tire for your Rover, the these are a good option. They are the same size tire at 26 x 4.0 tire and many Rad owners have changed over to these. Including my brother who rides mainly on the street. He said he likes these tires allot. This tire below is with the wire bead design. Meaning its like a stiff sidewall when mounting the tire. Just like the Rad tires. Maybe a little easier to seat the bead on the rim vs the non wire bead tire option listed further below. Non wire bead tires are like what you see at Walmart, they are all non wire bead tires so they can fit them flat in a box. I prefer wire bead when mounting tire onto the rim.
- Wide fast rolling street style tread that extends all the way to the sidewall
- Large channels and siping help evacuate water quickly and proivde a plush smooth ride
- Wrap around tread extends into the side wall for predictable and grippy turning even when running low PSI
- Available in a supple dual compound 120 TPI casing or a more puncture resistant firm 30 TPI option
For the Rover, these tubes are what I use. Order the 26x4 Mongoose tubes from Amazon. Click the link below.
Tuffy Fat Tire Liner 4XL
Fat Bike Tire Tube Protectors - Mr. Tuffy 4xl (Fits: 26"/29" X 4.1"-5"). This tire liner is the largest made by Tuffy its bigger than the one i have listed for the Rad City. This one will fit the Rover better for a fat tire setup.
Slime for Bicycles
For the Rover, use at least 40oz per tube in the tire. Some users even use 5 oz. I've personally used 4 oz. The Rad city use about 3 oz per tire. 8 oz bottle shown.

Duro California Bicycles Beach Bum Fat Tire Cruiser Tire (26" x 3") on the Rover
Not as wide as the original tire from Rad.
- The Duro Beach Bum Fat Tire Cruiser (26 “ x 3”) was made to dominate the road and the showroom. In the streets or on display, this tire is what your cruiser’s been waiting for
- Made with fat tire bike riders in mind, these tires have a commanding 3” width so you can take the bumps and grates road bikes are afraid of
- These tires have a PSI limit made to grip the road, unlike other big tires made for protection against thorns (which makes the tire a lot harder, limiting control on the road)
- Type: Cruiser; Size: 26”x3”; Bead: Wire; Max PSI: 36; Available in Black/Black or Black w/ White Walls
- Due to its size, these are usually compatible with Disc Brakes and Drum Brakes
